Lua Hadar with her band, TWIST, in a new montage

the video features live footage and photos of
appearances in New York, San Francisco,
Paris and Bangkok, never-before-seen backstage footage
in Laughing Tiger Recording Studios, and exclusive
on-camera interview with headliner Lua Hadar.

This famous hymn to the city of Paris (Sous le Ciel de Paris
/Under Paris Skies) personifies the Paris skies,
which look down on the lovers, the street people,
the bridges across the Seine river, musicians, philosophers,

the debut of her new show, "French Connection," with her band TWIST.
They discuss Lua's lifelong fascination with world cultures
and how this has influenced the development of TWIST,
and their "jazz without borders" style. Marchi quizzes Lua
on her new show, her cultural exchange experiences in Russia,
Thailand, Bali, Italy and France, on her childhood and on her latest CD, Lua Hadar with TWIST. These excerpts from the original half hour show,
taped in September 2009, are presented with permission from

Charles Trenet's famous song in tribute to the Paris neighborhood,
Menilmontant, a neighborhood which gave rise to many famous
French singers and songwriters, is a favorite among

at one of San Francisco's top nightclubs, The Rrazz Room at the Hotel Nikko.
Just the weekend before, San Francisco's BAY BRIDGE
had been closed for the entire weekend for repairs.
