Jazz Police, 10/21/2009, "The French Connection: Lua Hadar" by Maxwell Chandler,
MC:You refer to your music as “Music without borders.” What is your conceptualization of this?
LH: My objective in singing an eclectic song list is that the audience gets to experience a feeling of unity. … so that they can feel one with the other people in the audience, listening to the concert. I feel like world music has a very altruistic objective of helping to create world harmony.

Cabaret Scenes Magazine, 5/10/2008 - "Lua Hadar - TWIST" by Joe Regan Jr.,
New York City.
"What an exciting evening San Francisco-based jazz vocalist Lua Hadar treated us to at the Iridium in a performance celebrating her new CD, “Twist.” When Hadar sings in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or French, you don’t have to know the language because she communicates dramatically what she’s singing about… a stunning evening…sheer beauty… every selection was dramatically on the nose…she rocked… her physical presence and body language remind one of the great Latin, Abbe Lane, at her peak. The evening was pure pleasure! "

“The 'It’s About Time' project was inspired by life’s events and by Dr. Allan B. Chinen’s book of fairy tales, Once Upon a Midlife: Classic Stories and Mythic Tales to Illuminate The Middle Years.   Cabaret Hotline Online, 4/2006, Review by Stacy Horn
“By nature, cabaret performance is about intimacy - a daunting concept. A younger singer who hasn't yet processed life's lessons will fall flat. But Lua has the maturity to tackle the format. She opens up and reveals herself to the audience - the mark of a good cabaret performer. Lua is a wonderful actress who seeps into her characters…” see full review
